Subway Retro Art Drop

In 2026, Subway will begin updating their restaurants, so we thought it would be the perfect time to give away some of their amazing retro art. Y’know, the posters of tomatoes, bread, and cheese slices (with an apple for some reason). There was already a ton of demand online for the artwork, so we set up a giveaway on Instagram and got followers to drop comments on their favourite pieces. Art lovers were hyped for a chance to get some bread on their walls.

The campaign earned over 2.6 million impressions and 11K+ organic engagements, turning fans into art lovers. On Instagram alone, the contest phase drove 597K+ views, 2.2K+ comments, and nearly 800 shares, generating buzz, engagement, and plenty of brand love.

First, we teased the art we’d be giving away. We built a little excitement and intrigue (and showed off my amazing acting abilities).

Then we went all in on the “dial-up” vibes to reveal some of the beautiful art that would be available.

We dropped the Retro Art Drop live date by showcasing the existing demand online and got followers salivating over their fave pieces of art.

And here’s some of the beautiful art we gave away on Instagram 😮‍💨

We asked followers to tag a fellow art lover, like the post and comment on which piece they want.

We even created some wallpapers for people to download to their phones if they didn’t win.
